Review Price: This chop cup isn't available at the moment so it has been fetching a great deal more than its original price on auction sites such as eBay. However, I will base this review on the original asking price of $59.99. I can only give this 10 out of 10 for the pricing. The quality of props and attention to detail for that price is fantastic, well done Fantasma! What's Included?: This is a great little set! You receive:
Delivery Time / Packaging: This arrived in 8 days from the USA, perfectly packed and wrapped in a box with bubble wrap, beans etc and was in perfect condition. Thanks John! Construction / Durability: The cup itself is obviously not as hefty or durable as a copper or stainless chop cup etc and it appears to be a light wood with a covering, perhaps laquered paper or vinyl, it's hard to tell exactly. Having said that I have no doubts that this is a worker and not just to be displayed in a cabinet. It's a durable piece. The Buddha is said to be wooden on many websites, though I suspect it is actually moulded resin, very hard wearing and durable. It is also
capable of performing in the same manner as the cup with the appropriate balls which extends the
possibilities for delaying the final load etc by the appearance of a ball. A very neat feature indeed and those who have the knack of routining will be able to create some fantastic routines for this kit. Suitability: Unlike many "novelty" chop cup sets I have seen, this is 100% suitable for the job and appears to have been made by the original manufacturers of such oriental gift items specifically for Fantasma rather than a gift shop item which has been "aftermarket gaffed." Everything is "tuned" perfectly so that it works smoothly and performs just as it should. Overall: I honestly can't find fault with this little set up, it's great! I have been after one for some time and I am not dissapointed. I also love the fact that it doesn't seem "propy" and resembles items you could easily have picked up on your travels or from a gift shop. If you want to weave a philosophical story around it then there's lots of scope, if not it can simply be presented as a cup and ball routine, either way i would very much reccommend you pick one up if you see one on your travels...
